Steamboat Springs, CO (PRWeb) March 29, 2007 -- From Champagne PowderTM snow in the winter to Sparkling Whites in the summer, Steamboat Springs, is fast earning a reputation not only as one of the most desirable skiing and snowboarding destinations in Colorado, but also as a foodie's paradise.
ResortQuest Steamboat Vacation Rentals is the official lodging sponsor for two signature food and wine events - the Steamboat Wine Festival and the Steamboat Brewers Festival. ResortQuest is offering attendees a variety of lodging packages and special rates specifically for these event weekends.
Certainly, the fact that Steamboat now boasts more than 100 bars and restaurants is one reason for the burgeoning culinary reputation. "The town of Steamboat Springs, in the heart of cattle country, has far more carnivorous delights -- including elk, deer, and bison -- than you're likely to find in the trendier resorts of Aspen, Telluride, and Vail…" as detailed in the Fodors Travel Guide "The Steamboat ski resort, separated geographically from town, works toward a more cosmopolitan mix with small sushi bars and Mediterranean cafés hidden among the boutiques."
However it is the increasing popular summer food and wine events that have drawn the spotlight on the Steamboat ski resort. In its fourth year, The Steamboat Wine Festival, August 2-5, 2007, has become the can't miss mountain festival. This celebration of culinary delights, wine tastings and outdoor activities, offers attendees the opportunity to sniff, swirl and sip their way through a fantastic weekend in Steamboat. The Festival features an Opening Reception at the top of Thunderhead, a Grand Tasting on the Torian Plum lawns at the base of the Steamboat Ski Area with live entertainment and a Steel Chef Competition, several Wine Makers' Dinners featuring cuisine by award-winning chefs from around the state of Colorado, and a number of Wine and Food Seminars covering a variety of topics. Attendees can also stroll down Steamboat's main street and throughout downtown while sampling more than 250 wines and an array of culinary delights as part of the Stroll of Steamboat.
Later in the fall, the First Annual Steamboat Brewers Festival will be held on the Torian Plum lawns, at the base of the Steamboat ski area, Sept. 22, 2006. Tickets for the event will be $25 in advance, $30 at the door and will include a souvenir glass and six tokens for 5-ounce beer tastings. Additional tokens will be available for $1.50 each. Children younger than 12 will be admitted free with a parent or guardian, and root beer will be for sale for them. Designated driver tickets will be $8 and include water and soda. Another addition is the VIP tent, for which tickets are $75.
In Steamboat, ResortQuest luxury vacation rentals are accompanied with premier guest services including Steamboat's only on-call, door-to-door shuttle service, 24-hour front desk service, daily housekeeping and Wine and Cheese Welcome receptions.
