New York, NY (PRWEB) June 27, 2008 -- The owners of The Laundry, one of the country's leading American restaurants, have retained Rubenstein Public Relations (RPR) to represent this epicurean landmark.
"The Laundry is an East Hampton institution with a stellar reputation for producing outstanding American cuisine," said RPR President Richard Rubenstein. "We will raise awareness of The Laundry's talented chef and seek to expand recognition for the inspiring menu both domestically and internationally."
RPR will also submit The Laundry for awards, plan special food tastings and events to showcase the eclectic fare, and explore the possibility of securing cookbook deals.
Executive Chef Andrew Engle, formerly chef de Cuisine at Oceana in Manhattan, relies on fresh ingredients grown, bred and harvested from local farms, vineyards and the Atlantic Ocean.
The Laundry serves innovative American dishes and signature items such as roasted Iacono Farm chicken with creamy polenta and summer succotash, and the Laundry lobster salad with Satur Farm heirloom tomatoes.
The restaurant opened in 1980 at the site of a former steam laundry. Originally owned by 16 partners, including managing partner Billy Bonbrest and entertainment-industry icon Bob Fosse, The Laundry was a favorite among Hollywood's A-list, including Lauren Bacall, Roy Scheider, Liza Minnelli and Sidney Lumet.
Now owned by husband and wife Stuart Kreisler and Tracy Bonbrest, The Laundry moved to its present location, a historic farmhouse on 4 acres of land off Pantigo Road, in May 2006. The Laundry has continued to attract a loyal following, embraced for its enticing food, warmth and hospitality.
"We are delighted that Rubenstein Public Relations is helping us move to the next level," Mr. Kreisler said. "With the firm's guidance, we hope to entice visitors from across the country and throughout the world to visit The Laundry."
