The Danger In Seeking Health Advice At Health Food StoresEmail 50 Million Daily - FREE! Many people today have begun to see the value in obtaining their nutritional needs through their local health food stores. In many cases organic produce is only available at a health food store. In addition, vitamin supplements and other nutritional supplements are believed to have a higher quality at these types of stores vs. a grocery outlet. In addition to wanting to improve their health, many people have been misled into believing that ?nutritional counselors? or health food clerks are qualified to give advice on their health problems. Healthy organic foods are far better for us. Taking supplemental vitamins and minerals along with other types of immune system boosters can do our bodies a great deal of good, but getting advice from someone who works at a health food store may be very detrimental to our health. This is not to say that asking for help to understand the quality or value of certain products is wrong. Knowing how certain foods and supplements can help our bodies is different from getting advice on how to cure our health problems. Unfortunately, there are times when people seek a diagnosis for their poor health symptoms. The problem begins when a nutritionist or health food store salesman offers advice and or a diagnosis for symptoms that they have not been medically trained for. Many health problems have similar symptoms. Some of these symptoms are indications of serious health issues that must be diagnosed through further medical tests that can only be provided through someone who has the proper degree to do so. In most cases the people who work at health food stores have not received any formal training that would qualify them to give advice about serious or even minor health issues. Taking advice from people who are not qualified to give it could cause you a great deal of harm. It could even delay your ability to stop a minor health problem from becoming a serious one, especially if their advice was inaccurate or inappropriate. The least harmful side effect would be that you are spending money on nutritional supplements that do not add anything beneficial to your body. If you have a health problem, your first option should be to see a qualified physician. If you need advice about your diet, a registered dietitian may be a better choice. Once you have received accurate and knowledgeable advice about your condition you can confidently go to the health food store and pick up the nutritional supplements that your body actually needs. This way you don?t waste your time or your money.
